Simply put, any action your visitor must take (entering info into fields on a website) in order for you to get paid… is friction.

The lowest form of friction is asking a visitor to fill in one or two forms (like name and email)… and of course the highest level of friction is when your visitor needs to “buy now” and enter credit card info before you get paid.

Pulling out their wallets and committing to an online purchase is a big deal for most buyers. Most sales occur on the second or third visit to a website.
